I had to put that in caps just to emphasize how EXCITING all this stuff is about the Stanford IMPOSTER. Actually, my caps lock key was stuck. But anywho.
Someone named Paul just sent us this picture, so I figured I should post it (annotation is his):
![]()
Wait, are you sure she's not the only imposter in this picture? How about that guy in the back? Third from the left? Sketch.
Anyway, I can't tell you how much I felt like I was in the back country of Red America when I picked up the Daily the other day to read about that IMPOSTER who began her CON just before orientation last year. I kept imagining what sorts of catchy subtitles one could make up to accompany the sensational headline. "IMPOSTER CAUGHT: GO BACK TO CHINA" or how about "IMPOSTER CAUGHT: REJECT COULDN'T ACCEPT THE FACT THAT SHE'S A REJECT." I mean, Jesus, have a little sensitivity.
It was like watching Fox News. Or like watching Republicans talk about building a fence on the Mexican border. Sort of trashy.

yeah, the azia kim story elevated the journalism of the daily to the level of "in touch" and "us weekly". and i can't decide if i'm being sarcastic when i say "elevated" . .

really? she looks pretty similar to me. interesting link (to her Facebook profile), though. some killer ironies:

Just to clarify, it's "trashy" when the Daily reports about the imposter, but it's okay for you to publish an unconfirmed picture of someone who may or may not be the imposter? Did you consider that printing this picture could be a little irresponsible? Or did you not think about that, since this is the most sensational blog post you've ever written?

hi joshua -- i did think that it would be irresponsible and trashy, but that was the point i was trying to make about this whole thing.

Leave the people in the picture alone, especially people that are unrelated to the event. Who the hell are you to judge others anyway? It's not like u r so perfect that u have never make a mistake before.
Also, for you information, the guy in the third from the left is very smart and went to a good school. One that u probably can never get in.
Also, if something like this happen to a good friend of you, I doubt u would be attacking the person. So, think at different point of view instead of judge people you dono, especially people that are not related to the event.

guys, have you ever heard of sarcasm? all but the last two paragraphs are intended to be sarcastic.

Even if it was done sarcastically, it still sucks because they're people unrelated to the event. Her friends have probably had enough to deal with so there's no point in picking on random people.

Visitor's remarks are odd. Who is he addressing when he said:
"the guy in the third from the left is very smart and went to a good school. One that u probably can never get in."
Last time I checked, Stanford is just as hard to get into (and as highly ranked) as Harvard and other Ivy Leagues

Please change this "IMPOSTER CAUGHT: GO BACK TO CHINA". She is not from China.
Thanks.

I believe the author is aware Kim is from Korea. He is simply parodying the ignorance that goes into making those type of uninformed, intolerant statements.
(i.e. All latinos are Mexicans, etc.)
The following sentence provides the contextual support:
"It was like watching Fox News. Or like watching Republicans talk about building a fence on the Mexican border. Sort of trashy."

This thread is absolutely hilarious. We make fun of people all the time. Have you seen the internet? Sure I wouldn't post a picture on a website of a friend, but I would still make fun of her situation to her in person. Have a sense of humor.

it's just a harmless prank. after all these exposure, she won't be going to any school.
but she did prove one thing to this world; she is smarter than most of the accepted stanford students there. =D
which leads to the theory that most kids at stanford are spoiled brats with rich parents. no brains needed. just cash.
Go San Jose State!!!

Stanford* should enforce every student there to take an urine exam (for riods) and make them pass the lie-detector test.
That should filter out half of the fakers that enroll in Stanford*

Fraudy Tom-
You wrote: "which leads to the theory that most kids at stanford are spoiled brats with rich parents. no brains needed. just cash."
Hmmm...
I do believe I am on full financial aid. And I believe most people at Stanford receive some financial in some amount.
Hold on..wait.. Ithink, uh, yes, this does debunk your theory.
That is all.
Go Stanford!

I feel sorry for the girl. I don't think Stanford students are dumb for being duped by her. I would imagine that the students at Stanford are more book smart than lie detectors. Azia took advantage of trust not intelligence.

dude, do you have nothing better but to bag on other ppl? please do get a life. If you HAD to talk about Azia, please dont imply that her friends have anything to do with her event. And to whomever sent this picture stop trying to be such an attention whore that you have to expose others in order to get noticed kthx.

Be careful of what you implied (whoever sent that pic and annotated it)! You must be one of the students in the same school; otherwise, you woudn't have that pic. Then you should know that that gay is a truly ver smart student and doesn't need to do any of the stuff that girl did. He is a truly very smart student: a full IB, a National Merit Finalist, a Rotary Club member, a CSF with at least over 4.3 GPA and 2200 SAT and he does not need to do the things that that girl did. Be fair and leave him completely out of something unrelated to, would you? Before you try to ruin someone's reputation, please do your homework first. I guess you truly are a "friend" of Azia. Not only that you have to post her pic on the web and let everyone see how she looks, but also trying to pull her friends down as well. How lucky she is to have a "friend" like you.
on the web, but also try to pull down her friends as well.

The girl is from Korea, not from China. Please do not assume that every oriental face comes from China. All the oriental people looks differently based on which South East Asia country he/she comes from. It's just that the American can't tell. The same goes to people from European country, America, most of the Asian people can't tell the difference.
Actually, when one looks at their last name, one can tell which country that he/she comes from. Most Korean use "KIM" as their last names; Chinese use Lee, Chan, Lau, Wong, Ho, Cheung, etc. and usually with one short sound.

Hey person who wrote the post tagged with: Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2007 11:18 AM
You are a dolt. The writer of the article never meant to imply this guy was trying to cheat the system to get into any university! He only said he looked sketch. And besides, it was just sarcastic. I suppose you do not posess the intellectual capacity to read the sarcasm in what he wrote. Also, he is not a friend of Azia. He is also not the source of the pic. Can you not read? Perhaps the Sketch guy is really smart and a top performer or whatever... but you are clearly not. And why would you post this guys highschool academic merit on a stanford blog? who at stanford doesn't have those creds (or better)? places like stanford, harvard, columbia, dartmouth, etc... are filled with people who are at the top of their class. they are also not impressed with folks who are at the top of their highschool class. Next time, read more carefully and for god sake! Think before you write

you're disrespectful and ignorant. i'm surprised, i thought stanford was a highly ranked school.
