I’m not sure how it happened, but Stanford seems to enjoy a good relationship with the pseudo-scientists of Discovery Channel’s Mythbusters. After the Stanford crew team was featured on an episode where hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman attempted to waterski behind a row boat, Stanford is now giving Savage a cameo of his own. Savage was invited by the Stanford Speakers Bureau and Stanford Scientific Magazine to give a talk and answer some questions on Sunday, January 31st at 7:30pm in Dinkelspiel Auditorium.
Of the two hosts, Savage was the more scientific, but also the more rude. No doubt his personality was played up for the TV show. Regardless, the talk should be fascinating and entertaining. Savage knows his stuff, working with movie effects for years, but also knows how to entertain, as Mythbusters proved.
